Marco Mancuso is an independent art critic, curator, lecturer and publisher. He focuses his research on the impact of technologies and science on art, design and contemporary culture. He actually collaborates with the art space Adiacenze in Bologna, has published the book "Arte, tecnologia e scienza. Le Art Industries e i nuovi paradigmi di produzione della new media art contemporanea" with Mimesis Edizioni (2018) and is a Phd student at Iuav University of Venice, Design Sciences, Digital Cultures.
Founder and director from 2005 at Digicult (http://digicult.it/) platform, Digimag Journal (http://digicult.it/journal/), Digicult Agency (http://www.digicult.it/agency) and Digicult Editions (https://issuu.com/digicultlibrary) publishing house, he has been teaching from more than ten years New Media Art, Phenomenology of Contemporary Art and Digital Culture at NABA and IED in Milan, Digital Publishing for the Arts at the Academy of Fine Art Carrara in Bergamo.
He curated and co-curated a number of exhibitions and events including the Fantomologia project (Bologna, 2019), the solo exhibition "Fino alla fine" by the artist Guido Segni, the live media concert by Pierre Bastien at San Fedele Auditorium (Milan, 2018), the solo exhibition of Virgilio Villoresi interactive and cinetic installations (Bologna, 2018), the acousmatic concert by COH / Ivan Pavlov at San Fedele Auditorium (Milan, 2016), Streaming Egos project for Goethe Institute (2015-2016), Trasformazioni Affini (Milan, 2013) conference, The Mediagate (Lodz, 2010) collective exhibition, Sincronie (Milan, 2008-2009) event, Graffiti Research Lab / Laser Tag (Rome, 2008) public art performance, Screen Music (Florence, 2006-2007) and Mixed Media (Milan, 2006) festivals. He lectures and takes part in round tables and meetings about the relationship between art, design and technology and how contemporary art market is changing according to industry and digital platforms. He produced more than 100 interviews for Digicult and writes critical texts for publications and catalogues (Direct Digital, Otolab, Alterazioni Video, Zimoun and Streaming Egos exhibitions, Fantomologia project among others); he also curated for MCD magazine the Issue 63 - “The Open Future” (2012) and the carde-blanche Issue 64 - “Art Industries” (2014). He is part of the publication "Cultural Blogging in Europe" by LabForCulture.org (2010) and was recently included in "The Leonardo Affiliate Program" by Leonardo/The International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology (Leonardo/ISAST).
